As an artist and a teacher, I have lived in Switzerland, Ecuador, Bolivia and
the U.S. The five years that I lived abroad made a deep impression on me;
particularly, my time in South America, where many indigenous cultures are
still in touch with earth-centered spirituality.

I have lived through several volcanic eruptions in my lifetime. I respect the
power that lies within the earth, and, in keeping with the ancient traditions of
many cultures, I consider mountains to be spiritual links between the earth
and sky. My artwork revolves around concepts of feminine spirituality. Icons
such as the egg, the moon, and the mountain symbolize that spirit. My paintings
and drawings attempt to capture a delicate balance between the immense
power of the earth and Her fragility.

I paint with acrylics and oils on paper, canvas and scrap pieces of slate.

I also create 3-D assemblages using found objects and recycled materials.

My drawings are generally made with graphite and water-soluble crayons on
archival printmaking paper.
